Cbank: Russia’s gold reserves rise 0.37% to 1,686 tns in Apr

MOSCOW, May 19 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gold reserves, part of the country’s international reserves, increased by 0.37% in April to 54.2 million troy ounces, or 1,685.8 tonnes, as of May 1, according to data of the central bank seen by PRIME on Friday.

The value of the gold reserves rose 1.6% to U.S. $68.653 billion in April. The share of gold in Russia’s foreign exchange and gold reserves rose to 17.12% from 16.98%.

Russia’s gold reserves grew 14.07% in 2016 to 51.9 million troy ounces, or 1,614.27 tonnes, as of January 1, 2017, the central bank said earlier.
